Speedy Water Removal Limits Loss At Home In The Bronx

The quick action from the homeowner prevented the bathwater from reaching the floor joists or subflooring as we found no indications of raised moisture levels. Our technicians removed the baseboards from both the wall and under the vanity, revealing a hollow area where water collected. We extracted the water using our portable pumps and to push out the maximum amount of moisture from the carpet and padding; we deployed our stand-on Rover unit that uses the weight of the technician to pull deeply seated areas of moisture.

Our SERVPRO technicians use the science behind air movers that forces embedded water vapor to rise to the surface when exposed to high-velocity air movement. As this happens, our dehumidifiers capture it and port it away. As this cycle continues, progressively drier air blows on the water damaged areas increasing drying speed. The bathroom and hallway carpeting dried completely and after we cleaned and disinfected the water loss areas, leaving the bathroom ready for use again.
