“Black water” and “clear water” are likely terms that you’re familiar with if you’ve ever been around discussion of water damage. Though black water is certainly the most dangerous, there are actually three categories of pollution types that can all cause their own damages.

We want you to be prepared if water damage comes your way, so we’ve compiled the three types of water damage pollution in one convenient guide.

Water Damage Pollution Levels

Category 1: To fall into the first classification, “clear water” must have originated from a clean source. Uncontaminated water is often sourced from a broken pipe or supply line, a leaking faucet, or rainwater that’s come from vertical rainfall.
